Napa Valley Part I

Inspired by awesome blogger RoseRunner, who is currently chronicling her trip to Yellowstone, I thought I'd quick share a glimpse of my recent trip to Napa Valley.

Can I just say "WOW?!"

Mike and I decided that Napa Valley would be a perfect place to celebrate his 40th birthday. We left the kids with Nana and Poppi and headed out for a wonderful, relaxing long weekend.

After a fun traffic-filled commute through San Fran (Side note: How can you people stand it?!?!) We arrived in neighboring Yountville to the Vintage Inn.

Not our exact room but pretty close. Amazing.
We walked through the village and even scored some free wine/chocolate at a local shop.

Then dinner at Bistro Jeanty:

Voila. (Isn't that French?)

I'm not going to lie. I was a bit frightened at the menu.

*Pork Shoulder (Hmmmm...)
*Blood Sausage (*Frowny Face*)
*Duck Confit (Ew.)
*Veal Kidneys (OMG.)
*Rabbit  pâte (Mkay. I just threw up in my mouth a little.)

Already then. Butter lettuce salad and steamed mussels it is!

Both were excellent. I was even brave and took a bite of Mike's Pigs Feet. Not too bad.

Our chocolate Crème brûlée dessert = AMAZING

Stay tuned for Napa Part II!

  3. So crazy to see my hometown as your vaycay!! I'm still up there once or twice a month to see friends and family. My best friend in high school lived right next to the Yountville Inn - I think she even worked there? Bistro Jeanty, Redd...you picked some great restaurants. It's never ending. There are so many amazing restaurants there.

Can't wait to hear the rest! and next time, LET'S MEET, DUH!!!
